A big challenge for first time home buyers is coming up with a down payment. While there are still several 100% financing options available, not all home shoppers will qualify.
There’s Great News, though!!! FREE $$$$ is available. Locally, Greenville County offers up to $5,000 of down payment or closing cost assistance for eligible first time buyers. This money does not have to be repaid. They also provide specific programs for Teachers and for employess of the Greenville Hospital System.
The State of South Carolina also provides up to $5,000 in down payment assistance.
These programs can be combined, so that’s up to $10,000 of free money available.
