Upstate Housing Market Firing Up

After a sluggish Upstate SC housing market 2008 and 1st half of 2009, signs of rebound are aplenty.

Based on MLS data, houses sold in Upstate SC counties (like Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee counties) this Summer  are up over  20% compared to Spring sales numbers.  With incentive like the $8,000 purchase tax credit and very low mortgage rates encouraging buyers to purchase, the trend is likely to continue into this fall.  The word on the street is buy now before rates go up.

A great step for any potential buyers is to get pre-approved.  That way you can determine your budget based on your new potential payment.  Also, this will make sure you don’t shop for a home that is over your current budget, which can be a very disappointing experience if you find a home that you like, but you can’t qualify for it.
